Job Purpose:

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our Production team to gain a level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative qualification while providing support to the Machine Operators with machine specific functions.

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out pre-checks and cleaning tasks of the production line.

  • Set the machine to production recipes.

  • Preparing raw materials for production.

  • Replenish packaging and films to the production line during the shift including the stacking of trays.

  • Set up batches of production as per the production plan.

  • Manual handling including the stacking of finished goods.

  • Maintain the hygiene of equipment.

  • Completing documentation throughout the shift.

  • Replenish the PH.

  • Record downtime and work with the team to help minimise this.

  • Assist in resolving machine stoppages.

  • Achieve OEE and waste targets.

  • Work as part of a team.

  • Maintain health and safety and always adhere to policies and procedures.

  • Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, efficiency, safety and waste reduction.

  • Help & assist in the training of other and identify own training needs.

  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.

  • The ability to work on own initiative and a self-starter.

  • Able to work to targets and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and impersonal skills.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Keeps calm under pressure.

  • The individual should be highly motivated, and results orientated with a strong willingness to learn.

  • Team player.

  • Punctual and reliable.

  • Keen interest in Machine Operations.

  • Strong desire to learn and develop.

Shift Pattern:

  • 4 On 4 Off (Days) - 6am to 6pm

  • 4 On 4 Off (Nights) - 6pm to 6am
